Assistant Program Director - Residential Services

Description

The Bridge, an innovative and well respected mental health agency serving adults with serious mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and co-morbid medical conditions is an Assistant Program Director for it's Residential Program.

Essential Duties:

Assists the Program Director with the safe operation of 60 bed CR/SRO housing 15 young adults transitioning from OMH children’s facilities, and 45 adults with SPMI and histories of homelessness and psychiatric hospitalizations. Available on call 24/7.
Conducts outreach with approved referral facilities (shelters, state psychiatric centers, children’s residential treatment centers) to ensure full occupancy, and engages residents prior to admission to ensure successful transition.
Responsible for development and implementation of client programming and groups. Ensures that staff uses Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed practices.
Supervises case management staff. Coaches and supports staff to ensure maximum resident engagement. Conducts weekly individual and group supervision of case management team.
Willing to provide coverage for Program Director.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications

* Masters in Social Work or related field*2+ years in similar field; excellent English language skills; both verbal and written; knowledge of AWARDS; commitment to Trauma Informed services and experience with young adults and adults with SPMI and co-occurring disorders. Clear understanding of and experience with OMH regulations regarding CR/SROs *Excellent time management skills; stress resistant, flexible; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team player; open to feedback; creative; excellent organizational skills; willingness to perform CPR/First Aid/AED/CPI/Naloxone *Preferred experience with mental health and substance abuse, and significant experience with crisis intervention and managing trauma triggered behaviors. Strong Motivational Interviewing skills and commitment to wellness based programming.
