Senior Accountant

Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable. Producing error-free accounting reports and present their results and analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.

CORE COMPETENCIES: • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas. • Knowledge of and implement accrual-based accounting practices
DUTIES: • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies. • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. • Conduct daily, monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance • Assists with audit preparation • Ensure all journal entries are supported with proper documentation for audit purposes. • Assist in completing monthly billings for grants, contracts, and other programs. • Assist as payroll back up • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Bank Reconciliations • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required • 5+ years’ experience in accounting • Experience with computerized ledger systems • Advanced knowledge of Excel • Strong problem solving and analytical skills • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment and independently • Familiarity with Fund EZs • Able to communicate in a clear, friendly, professional and proactive manner

Salary

$60K With great benefits.
