In December 2011, CUCS will hire a Program Director for The Hegeman Residence, a new supportive housing site for formerly homeless and low income individuals, which is scheduled to open in March of 2012.

CUCS has partnered with Common Ground to operate The Hegeman Residence, located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn. This is a 161 unit supportive housing program for low income and formerly homeless individuals diagnosed with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, and/or substance abuse. CUCS will provide the on-site social services and Common Ground will be the property manager.

Responsibilities: Until the building opens, the Program Director will work as part of the CUCS program development team that is charged with developing the site’s service program.. This will include participating in regular development team meetings, recruiting staff, planning for the implementation of CUCS policies at the site, helping to develop new policies as necessary, , working in conjunction with CUCS’ Central Intake Department to screen and select residents for the program, etc. Once the building opens, the Program Director will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the program, supervising senior staff, ensuring that program activities comply with all applicable regulations, and working in partnership with Common Ground to help ensure the effective integration of building management and services. The Program Director will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a program culture that is person centered, supportive of staff development, and engaged in continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

LCSW and at least five years of post-masters related experience.
