Quality Improvement Specialist

You will be part of a high performing team facilitating programs to track and maximize their successes and supporting the agency to measure, improve and articulate its efficacy at the population level.

The Quality Improvement Specialist will help build on the organization’s capacity to measure and manage program performance. He or she will assist with running the agency’s Quality Improvement Committee and lead Quality Improvement Projects to support health and human services serving diverse populations. The incumbent will update logic models, set up measurement systems, analyze clinical and population outcomes, identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement, and implement various methodologies (e.g., IHI Model of Improvement, Lean/Six Sigma) to design or improve processes that drive toward greater results.

The Quality Improvement Specialist reports directly to the Assistant Vice President, Quality Measurement and Improvement, and will help design and implement a structured, agency-wide quality improvement system that answers the needs of managed care, value-based purchasing and pay for performance contracting. He or she will also work closely with the Assistant Vice President for Analytics and Reporting to identify key performance indicators, create and implement data collection plans and develop and use program dashboards to track progress.

The QI Specialist is an agent of organizational change, helping programs to further demonstrate their impact in measurable terms and to grow and enhance a culture of data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

A Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), Public Health (MPH) or in Social Work (MSW with a focus on research or administration) is required. One to three years of work experience is preferred. Candidates with a Masters in another field but with five plus years of related experience will also be considered. We are looking for someone with people and project management skills, a facility with data presentation and analysis, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a passion for ensuring the provision of integrated, high-quality, outcome-based, and cost-effective health and human services that are responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
