Job Title: Clinical Supervisor LCSW Brooklyn CIRT

Reports To: CIRT Director Center for Court Innovation & CASES’ Director Adult Behavioral Health Programs

Overview: The Brooklyn Court-based Intervention Resource Team (CIRT) is a program run by the Center for Court Innovation (CCI) and CASES. The program provides alternative to detention (ATD) and alternative to incarceration (ATI) services for youth and adults with mental health problems, illness, substance use disorders and co -occurring disorders diverted from Kings County Criminal and Supreme Courts. The clinical supervisor is responsible for the clinical oversight of screening and assessment as well as the community treatment, case management and supervision services under the direction of the Director. The supervisor oversees social work, case management, and peer specialists staff and works with the part-time program psychiatrist. The Supervisor is the clinical lead ensuring participants receive services that are strengths-based, culturally-sensitive and adherent to the core principles of risk, need and responsivity to reduce criminal recidivism, increase engagement in community treatment services and support participants to achieve their self-identified goals for treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, and crime-free community integration. This position requires a creative and assertive self-starter who can support CASES and CCI to integrate their agency missions to run a seamless program with staff from both agencies.

Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical leadership for all program services
• Ensure the timely flow of staff activities to meet program goals and objectives
• Oversee the integration of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, gender-responsive services and evidence-based services
• Direct the assessment of participant immediate needs, legal circumstances, and engagement needs to develop service plans
• Use motivational interviewing and supervise staff in use of motivational interviewing to engage and retain participants
• Provide regular clinical supervision to program staff
• Allocate time to direct participant services including conducting screenings and assessment of high risk defendants and managing a caseload of high risk and complex care participants, including conducting direct work in the community and with staff as needed to manage risk and assess staff competence
• Assess risk and address recidivism risk factors using valid and reliable risk and need assessment processes to identify participant risk factors for criminal recidivism and appropriate service responses
• Complete psychosocial assessments to develop universal referral form packets for NYC case management and ACT services and submit referrals to Single Point of Access (SPOA)
• Lead organizational and clinical staff meetings
• Support CIRT Director in the development strategic alliances with community providers and coordinate outreach activities to ensure accurate and update information is communicated about the CIRT
• Conduct liaison with community treatment providers (mental health and substance use), care managers, housing providers and Health Homes
• Supervise electronic chart-keeping activities in accordance with confidentiality regulations
• Authorize time sheets, ordering of supplies, vacation and leave requests and related administrative procedures to ensure the effective operations of the team
• Provide culturally-competent services in accordance with CASES policies and practices
• Ensure the program achieves expected performance milestones in accordance with contract goals
• Utilize program data to inform program operations including the development of policies, procedures and corrective action plans
• Provide culturally competent services in accordance with policies
• Supervise staff and support the alignment of individual staff performance targets towards overall program goals and objectives
• Participate in CASES supervisors monthly staff meetings
• Deputize for the Director as needed
• Any other duties as required by the CASES and CCI supervisory and executive staff

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• NYS LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent
• At least three years of experience providing services to youth and adults with mental illness
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and services for participants in ATD and ATI
• Spanish speaking a plus

Required:
• LCSW with previous supervisory experience
• LMSW with supervisory experience receiving LCSW within one year

Preferred Experience:
• Previous experience supervising multidisciplinary staff
• SIFI certification

Salary

Up to Mid 60s (depending on qualifications and experience)
