Andrus provides annually a broad network of supports to over 2,500 vulnerable children and families of all backgrounds and means. Our mental health division (MHD) extends individualized child and family interventions, supports parents, caregivers, and helps children and their families build on their unique strengths while managing their particular challenges. With Clinics in Yonkers, White Plains, and Peekskill, we are able to provide services to families in northern, southern, and central Westchester.
The Director of the MHD is a member of the senior operations team who oversees all mental health service delivery components for this Division. The Director will ensure that the various service and programs of the Division are well coordinated and meet the complex needs of the children and families served, providing sound fiscal management and ensuring high quality. The Director is responsible for the selection, training and supervision of all division staff to ensure the safe, effective and efficient operations of our community based clinics and satellite programs. The Director will have responsibility for maintaining adherence to all regulatory mandates governing mental health services, programs and clinics. The Director provides solid leadership, management and administration in the area of comprehensive clinical service delivery and fosters appropriate community and public relations through state, regional, and local linkages, advocacy groups, and other public and private connections. The Director will lead program evaluation activities and monitor the delivery of services using best practice standards. The Director supervises and coordinates the preparation of the annual Division budget and other necessary financial reporting. The Director will participate in the development of key strategies for the division internally, externally and within the broader context of the local and national landscape using performance measurements and outcome metrics for impact to guide strategic and operational decision-making. The Director of MHD reports to and is directly supervised by the Vice President of Community Based Programs.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will possess: • MD, Psy.D., Ph.D., LP or LCSW-R in behavioral health from an accredited university and licensed in New York State • Six years’ experience in human services, public health or other related field including three or more years of progressively responsible experience managing an Article 31 outpatient mental health clinic and/or Article 28 outpatient health clinic • Knowledge of health policy, including health care reform; industry standards in the provision of community mental health services; clinical trends and research • Ability to provide quality mental health services and to develop the administrative and clinical staff in a well-managed mental health care facility • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare and private insurance billing requirements and regulations • An understanding of funding and industry regulations and a track record of meeting compliance standards • An understanding of performance metrics and a track record of meeting the metrics • Strong leadership, excellent organizational and communication skills • Ability to work with a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environment • Ability to multitask and to work and function under pressure • Experience using evidence based models (FFT, MST, BSFT, etc.) preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Valid NYS Driver’s License
