Description
Job Title: Development Associate
Reports to: Director of Development
Overview: The Development Associate will be a member of the Strategic Planning and Analysis unit, which is responsible for the agency’s program planning, development and communications. The Development Associate will share responsibility for grant writing, researching funding sources and developing resources for the agency to sustain and grow its funding base, implementing administrative development activities (including updating development database), and creating high-quality communications materials.
Responsibilities:
• Perform grant writing activities including, but not limited to, writing proposals, preparing supporting documents and ensuring timely submission; • Maintain and organize funding information including, but not limited to, proposal activity information, funder files, donor tracking systems and donor communications; • Provide support for mailings and communications, including preparing data, drafting correspondence and conducting mail merges; • Coordinate donor acknowledgement and recognition program; • Prepare reports and maintain files detailing fundraising progress; • Research prospective individual and institutional donors; • Represent agency and network to public and private funding sources; • Develop communications materials that explain the agency’s mission and showcase program results and accomplishments for dissemination through multiple channels (e.g. website, social media, and print); and • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis.
Qualifications
• B.A./B.S. degree required; Master’s degree preferred; • Excellent writing skills; • Strong research, analytical, planning, and organizational skills; • 2-5 years’ experience in nonprofit fund development preferred; • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with fundraising database software and social networking platforms preferred; • Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment and discretion; • Team-oriented, flexible, positive, personable, and eager to learn; and • Supportive of CASES’ mission, vision, and values.
Salary
$40-45K, depending on experience
