Per Diem Activity Assistant/Computer Lab Monitor (The Lee)

Description

The Center for Urban Community Services, a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, invites applications for a Computer Lab Monitor position at the Lee, located in the Lower East Side. The Lee is a 208 unit supportive housing residence for low income tenants, many of whom have histories of mental illness, homelessness, substance abuse, and /or HIV/AIDS.

This position is responsible for providing oversight of the computer lab usage and administrative support for tenant services programming. Responsibilities include: providing basic technical support and assistance to lab participants, documenting computer room utilization, overall maintenance of the computer lab space and reporting any problems to supervisory staff. Additional tenant services administrative support includes: posting signs and maintaining building bulletin boards, distributing monthly tenant newsletters and assistance with organizing for tenant workshops/events. Weekly Schedule : 14 hours.

Qualifications

Reqs: High School Diploma or GED, basic knowledge of computer hardware parts and software programs including Microsoft Office XP, Good written and verbal communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with special needs populations and Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
