Description
The Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS), a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, seeks a evening Supervisor for its 350 Lafayette Transitional Living Community (TLC). The TLC is a leading housing placement program in NYC serving mentally ill, homeless women. A recipient of the SAMHSA Exemplary Program Award, the TLC is recovery oriented and has participated in implementing the use of Evidence-Based Practices for homeless persons with a mental illness. Program services include: housing placement, comprehensive health, mental health, and case management. Responsibilities: The Evening Supervisor is responsible for working with an assigned group of clients to help them live full and satisfying lives in the community; helping their team and program to function well and meet their contractual obligations; and striving, as appropriate to their role, to fulfill the CUCS programs’ core purpose, core values and vision statements. The Evening Supervisor is also expected to understand and support the management activities that ensure the good functioning of the team and the program as a whole. They will be expected to provide oversight and support to their team during the evening hour shifts Monday through Friday. The Evening Supervisor is also responsible for supervising the overnight supervisor and providing general support of the entire overnight team as well. The Evening Supervisor is expected to possess strong assessment skills and to interface effectively and efficiently with partner agencies and colleagues to ensure quality services and program operations. Further, an Evening Supervisor is expected to exhibit a heightened level of autonomy and decision-making skills. This position requires attention to detail, strong writing and verbal communication skills, computer literacy, and time-management skills. The Evening Supervisor is a member of the 350 management team and will be part of the on call rotation. Hours: Monday 3pm—11pm Tuesday 3pm—11pm Wednesday 4pm—12am Thursday 4pm—12am Friday 4pm—12am
Qualifications
Experience and Education Required: Requirements for Evening Supervisor 1 MSW degree, LMSW preferred CUCS requires that all full-time social workers who provide services within the LMSW or LCSW scope of practice to have a license within 6 months from date of hire. Experience with indicated population Good verbal and written communication skills Computer literacy Good verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and effectively manage time Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
