Recovery Support Specialists

Description
Phoenix House is seeking several Recovery Support Specialists who advocate recovery by serving as a personal guide/mentor for people seeking or in recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. S/he offers help removing barriers and obstacles to recovery.
The incumbent will perform oversight of premises and resident activity during overnight shifts, day shifts and evening shifts. S/he will record all pertinent activities or incidents in activity reports. The Monitor will also provide supervision and handle incidents as required. S/he will also perform random drug urinalysis testing of residents.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: • High School Diploma/GED required • CASAC preferred
EXPERIENCE: • Substance Abuse and/or mental health experience required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Experience with case management and knowledge of and/or experience with substance abuse, mental health, health, vocational/educational/training, and housing systems • Ability to listen, communicate and develop rapport with members of the recovery community and active drug users • Ability to comply with internal, local, state and federal requirements and regulations • Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint helpful • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to utilize data and create correspondence and reports • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with community partners, referral agencies and support systems
