Clinical Applications Coordinator (Janian)

Description
The Clinical Applications Coordinator is responsible for oversight and support of Janian Medical Care’s electronic medical record, E-Clinical Works (ECW). Janian Medical Care provides primary care and psychiatric care to individuals who are homeless and formerly homeless. The position requires an understanding of the role of Health Information Management in the delivery of clinical patient care and the revenue cycle, through collaboration with providers, administrative and management staff, and vendors. This position has significant training, decision-making, administrative, and technical support responsibilities. This individual has primary responsibility for training health care staff, supervisory, managerial, and executive staff in the use of clinical applications as appropriate to their respective duties. It’s critical that this individual attain a thorough clinical understanding of the patient population served, the organizations regulatory and contractual environment including third party payers, and the use of information technology to support both good clinical practice and regulatory/contractual compliance. The Clinical Applications Coordinator is central to fostering the mission and goals of Janian Medical Care and should be able to work effectively with software vendors, direct care staff, technical staff, and all levels of agency management to maintain and improve clinical excellence within the organization. Primary Responsibilities Include
• Manage the day to day operations of the electronic medical record (ECW) • Train staff at all levels in the use of ECW • Provide in person and telephone support to program’s ECW users • Liaise between Janian Medical and the CUCS IT department to support the EMR • Audit and monitor the EMR for quality, productivity, and consistency with system standards and benchmarks. Present findings in understandable and meaningful way to facilitate effective management of the program • Manage regulatory compliance and develop/manage department policies and procedures • Utilize metrics, data and analytics to measure and deliver performance that meet or exceed best practice standards in EMR functionality • Participate in departmental and other administrative meetings and on projects • Perform other duties as assigned • Analyze, design, build, and maintain EMR clinical and business reports.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED • Bachelor’s degree in health information management or technology related field required • 2-3 years of demonstrated knowledge of health information management practices, regulatory requirements, financial and review requirements, and computer health applications required • Previously certified as an ECW Trainer and Billing Manager • Familiarity with SQL Query development • Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills • Good decision making skills • Good written and verbal communications skills. • Experience training staff individually and in group settings. • Willing to travel locally for in-person technical assistance and training • Citrix experience a plus
