Clinical Supervisor

Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

1) Supervisory

Meet with Counselors on bi-weekly basis to instruct them on the proper procedures of client record keeping, case conferences, accurate referral and confidentiality.

Conduct regular supervisory meetings with counseling staff regarding issues of program, treatment, referrals, case conferences, etc.

Continuously performs audits to ensure records are maintained in accordance with standards established by OASAS and/or other designated federal/state agencies, including agencies policies.

Assign cases to individual counselors, Responsible for articulating development plans to staff.

Recommend disciplinary action and/or termination of counseling staff.

Participate in interviews for new or open positions.

Work with Administrator to conduct workshops for counseling staff on issues of practice and theory.

Initiate request for case consultation with other Program Directors, as needed.

Approve counselor vacation and training in consultation with Director.

Attend inter and intra agency conferences and meetings as assigned by administration.

Provide administrative weekend coverage at least twice a month.

Meet with counselors and clients to discuss problematic cases and provide crisis intervention

Ensure staff attends appropriate training.

All other duties as assigned by the Director.

2. Compile and generate reports, letters and documents:


Collect, maintain and prepare statistical data and reports that contribute to the operation and management of the department.

Develop evaluations for staff to be reviewed by the Director.

3. Attend meetings and seminars as assigned:

•Attend meetings as assigned.

•Attend training as required or mandated.

Qualifications

JOB COMPETENCY:

•Bachelors’ Degree in Behavioral Health or Social Sciences and two (2) to three (3) years related experience. CASAC or MSW; must be a Qualified Health Professional.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Ability to speak read and write the English language, Spanish a plus.

•Excellent organization skills.

•Computer literate.
