Co-Occurring Substance Use and Psychiatric Disorders in Addiction Programs

Only recently have evidence-based treatments (EBTs) and consensus guidelines been available for persons with co-occurring disorders in addiction treatment settings. These persons are more likely to have substance dependence disorders and psychiatric prolems such as mood, anxiety, PTSD and Axis II disorders. This workshop will summarize the status of this emerging field and will provide practical tools to enhance capacity to screen, assess, and to develop treatment plans for person with co-occurring disorders in addiction treatment settings. Pragmatic information for practioners, program directors and system administrators will be provided.

Participants will be awarded CASAC credits.

This session will run from 1pm - 4pm, registration begins at 12:30pm. The seminar will be held at the Coalition's offices located in lower Manhattan at 90 Broad St, 8th Fl.
