Benefits Training Series

a. Self Employment and Plans for Achieving Self Support (PASS)

Based on expressed training needs of practitioners, this one day training will focus on issues pertaining to Self-Employment and Plans for Achieving Self Support (PASS).  The morning will cover: Who’s a good candidate for a PASS?  What can a PASS be used for?  How long can a PASS continue?  The afternoon will focus on self-employment issues. Specifically: benefits, income disregards, business planning and application of work incentives to support self-employment outcomes.   Case studies will be utilized to reinforce the day’s learning.

 Fee: $25 per person

b. Introduction to Benefits Management

A half day training offered in various locations across the city designed for clinicians and other staff new to benefits, to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of the Social Security System 
  • Comprehend the difference between SSI, SSDI, Medicaid and Medicare
  • Gain specific knowledge of resources that support consumers in their living and working goals
  • Enhance the ability of consumers to participate in their recovery process
  • Fee: None
