Training

The Center is committed to developing a highly skilled workforce in the community mental health sector of New York City. Each year we speak to consumers, staff, administrators and government partners to determine critical learning needs.  This helps us design and deliver innovative trainings that focus on relevant topics and learning methods. The driving purpose of all these trainings is to promote best practices that foster consumer rehabilitation and recovery.

Continuing Education

The Coalition has been approved as a provider of Continuing Education contact hours for licensed social workers in NYS. We are working to approve as many of our trainings for social work CE hours but at this time not all trainings have been approved. Please be sure your selected training is eligible to provide CE credits.

The NYS Education Department sets forth specific requirements for issuing social work CE hours. Please note that in order to receive CE hours for an approved training you must:

• be a licensed social worker in NYS;
• arrive on time;
• sign-in to training on designated CE hours sign-in sheet;
• attend the training in its entirety;
• and sign-out at the end of the training;
• If a multi-day training you must participate every day to receive credit, and you must sign out each day and sign back in the next day.

At this time we are not eligible to provide continuing education hours to other certified or licensed providers; currently we can only provide CE hours to social workers.

Sessions

Introduction to Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Skills Training

Dates: Friday, June 7, 2019
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: ** Downtown Conference Center at Pace University | 157 William Street | Manhattan | Room number will be provided upon entry. Have ID on hand.

Target Audience Criteria: This introductory training is designed for practitioners, peer providers, and supervisors presently working in a behavioral health setting and for practitioners who facilitate psychosocial rehabilitation skills training groups or skills training individual sessions as part of their core job responsibilities and for their direct supervisors.

Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) providers and Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) providers are highly encouraged to attend and will be given priority registration. Individuals working in OMH licensed will also be given priority.

The Coalition for Behavioral Health reserves the right to cancel reservations for those who do not meet the target audience criteria.

* Information for Continuing Education:
This course is approved for 6 LMSW/LCSW CE hours, 6 LMHC CE hours and 6 CASAC/CPP/CPS CE hours. Please have your Social Work License Number on hand.

Many of us learn by doing and yet we still find that most of our interventions consist of talking and processing.
